Blog > A Tale of Two Homes
Selling one home in the hot real estate market of Lake Tapps presents both buyer and seller with a unique challenge. Selling one home on the lake, then buying another at a different part of the lake is a challenge in a class by itself. Brandon and Shannon Hazzard set out to do just that.
To say Brandon Hazzard loves Lake Tapps would be an understatement. His family, his business, and recreational activities all revolve around this special place he calls home. This is also the place generations of Hazzard’s have called home for over fifty years. Brandon has his own fond memories of growing up on the lake.
“I remember my early years riding jet skis and wakeboarding in the moonlight. We had one rule at our house: Be home just before dinner, or just before the sun went down. Those memories and great times made it an easy decision for Shannon and me to stay in the area to raise our own family,” Brandon shared.
“It’s great to see our daughters, Bailey, Sydney and Scarlett doing the activities I did as a child. They love the lake as much as I do.”
Brandon also loveshis Tapps Island community.
“Tapps Island has so many fun activities, and the amenities are great. It really is Resort Living.”
In addition to providing home financing for potential buyers, Brandon has spent years running branches for Mortgage Master Service Corporation, Prime Lending, and Flagstar Mortgage in the Bonney Lake/Lake Tapps area. Even so, adventure was calling. This time, in flipping a home of their own.
It seems that both Brandon and Shannon were both bitten by the bug. After improving their current home to its maximum potential, they were more than ready for their next investment adventure. It was about this time that they also fell in love with a charming Cape Cod style home, complete views that are simply breathtaking in the “Phase 3” section of Tapps Island that they simply had to have.
Selling one home while buying another, on Tapps Island no less, is not for the faint at heart. To help them complete this feat, Brandon naturally turned to his friend and “go to” for real estate strategies to make these two complex transactions work; the Toril Sells Houses Team.
Brandon and Toril are not only colleagues in real estate, they are also longtime friends. They have known each other since elementary school, and have worked together for over twenty years in the real estate and mortgage industry. Both have not only build a reputation in the real estate market, but both understand the importance of providing both personal service and professional assistance to their clients. Brandon knew if anyone could pull this off, it was Toril and her team.
This home was remarkable in every way. After staging the home for photos, the Toril Sells Houses Team launched an effective marketing strategy that resulted not only in an offer, but a buyer under contract in less than 90 days after the initial listing. Even more remarkable, this was accomplished in an area where comparable homes had been on the market for as much as six months. One down.
When it came to the Hazzard’s new home, Toril and her team were no less impressive. The Toril Sells Houses Team were able to negotiate a great deal on the home the family intended to purchase, assuring Brandon, Shannon, and their girls always had a home to come to at the end of the day. When all was said and done, their home on the water was sold, and they were able to get into their new home with no problem.
While this is the end of one chapter for Brandon Hazzard, it certainly isn’t the end of his flipping adventure. The Toril Sells Houses Team is certain he has his eyes wide open, improving his current home and looking for that next diamond in the rough. And Toril and her team will be ready for him.
For his part, Brandon knows that his old friend is just a phone call away.
